About the practice

Brightstar Counseling and Evaluation Center is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary mental health practice. We are located in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex in Bedford, Texas. Since our establishment in Texas in 2009, we have been a leading provider in child and adolescent counseling and medication management. We are committed to providing quality psychiatric and counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

At Brightstar, we believe that medication should be a last resort and encourage counseling to assist in developing healthy coping skills and tools to help improve daily functioning. If medication is necessary, one of our staff goals is to assist individuals in reach the ability to no longer need medication.

Our clients are able to assess services that fit their individual needs through medication management and individual or family therapy thus promoting continuity of care. We offer outpatient services and work closely with local hospitals and behavioral health centers to assess if more intensive care is needed.

Dr. Aman specializes in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has nearly two decades of experience working with adults, adolescents, and children. He is also a well-known psychiatrist in the DFW metroplex, he now brings his wealth of academic and clinical experience to seeing pediatric and adolescent patients at Brightstar Psychiatry. He specializes in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), substance use disorders, autism spectrum disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, screen time “addiction,” and childhood misbehavior.

Dr. Aman offers psychotherapy, medication management, lifestyle-change counseling, and other highly effective treatments for common mental health disorders and challenges. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both adult and child psychiatry.

Dr. Aman has completed his Medical Degree from King Edward Medical College in Lahore Pakistan. Doctor Aman completed his General Psychiatry Residency in Nashville, TN and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. He is board-certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a proud member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and Tarrant and Collin County Medical Societies. In his free time Doctor Aman enjoys spending time with his two beautiful children, reading books, listening to podcasts, and teaching students. Dr. Aman has worked in a variety of clinical settings, from a teaching hospital, VA hospital, and community hospitals. He has 25 years of clinical experience serving the needs of children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders.

He started Brightstar Psychiatry to follow his passion of helping children. He is a strong believer of a multi-disciplinary approach to children with psychiatric disorders. He is compassionate and sensitive to the needs of not only children but parents. He strongly believes medicine should be prescribed as a last resort, after other less intrusive options of treatment have failed. That aligns with the core mission of Brightstar Psychiatry. 

Suja George is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, who is licensed and trained to treat mental health problems across the life span. Suja has been working at this clinic since 2014. Prior to this, she practiced as a staff nurse in pediatric unit for 4 years and charge nurse in cardiac step down unit for almost 14 years. Suja obtained her Bachelor of Nursing from India, graduated from University of Arlington (UTA, TX) with her Masters in Mental Health Nurse Practitioner course in 2014 and her Doctorate in 2019. In her free time Suja enjoys family, church and community gatherings and functions.  Suja considers Peace of mind and Health as the richest treasures in life. Suja considers mental health as an important aspect of our life these days and has a passion for treating the mental health problems in children and adults with depression, anxiety and ADHD. Suja is committed to partner in care with patients and their families to obtain the best outcome of the treatments.  Suja is focused on compassionate and quality care.

Runako Richardson is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is committed to providing person-centered care to patients from many different backgrounds with various mental health conditions. Runako has been with the company for 6 years. Prior to that she worked as an RN at a  hospital. In her spare time Runako enjoys spending  time with family and travelling. One of Runako’s favorite quote : “There is hope,  even when your brain tells you there isn’t.” Runako is passionate about working with people of all age groups and helping them on their path to mental wellness.

Tara is one of our newest Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners who provides care to patients struggling with mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and other behavioral and mood disorders. Tara is a Marine Corps veteran having served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. After that, she spent 14 years as an ER trauma nurse. Tara is a certified sexual assault nurse examiner and feels passionate about caring for sexual assault victims. Tara Graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Master’s of Science in Nursing and is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the American Nurse Association, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, The American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and International Association of Forensic Nurses In her spare time, Tara loves to watch her kids play sports on the weekends. She loves animals, and she and her husband raise chickens, have 2 goldendoodles, 2 cats and a talking parrot on their 12-acre ranch. Tara is inspired to make a significant impact in the lives of patients with mental health issues by making it her mission to speak up for patients who find it difficult to be heard or appreciated, and to manage their care with empathy, comprehension and compassion.

Zachary has been with Brightstar for over ten years. Prior to that, he worked for two local non-profit organizations in the heart of Fort Worth. Zachary graduated from Taylor University with a B.A. in Psychology and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a M.A. in Marriage and Family Counseling. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is recognized for Supervisor.

In 2017, Zach was listed as a “Mom-Approved Therapist” by DFW Child Magazine. Zach enjoys working with families to create an environment that allows for growth inside and outside the home. Zach enjoys spending time with his family, cheering on his sports teams, and exercising.

Issac Connie received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2002 from Texas Wesleyan University and Master’s degree in Professional Counseling. Issac has years of professional experience providing outstanding counseling service to patients from nonprofit organizations, public schools, psychiatric hospitals, and individuals appointed by the courts. His patients include children, teenagers, and adults. His counseling sessions has included one on one, group, family therapy. Issac’s work with patients who have experienced (but not limited to) the following issues: Depression, Anxiety, Stress management, Anger/Aggression, Childhood Issues, Marriage and Family Struggles, School Behavior, Parenting, Job Performance, and everyday Life struggles. Issac is passionate about meeting and connecting with his patients to evaluate their current situation prior to developing a successful treatment plan. His approach is very successful in helping them effectively manage whatever life issues are in front of them. Outside of counseling in private practice, Issac has a passion for his family. When he is not working, he loves spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys running and playing golf.

Rameshwar Thapa has been licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Texas. He is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. He completed Master of Science in Nursing from University of Texas at Arlington in 2013. He has worked as a research clinician for a couple of Clinical Trial Network studies conducted by National Institute on Drug Abuse in the past. He has been providing psychiatric and mental health care to children and adolescents in DFW area through this clinic since 2014.
Mr. Thapa says “Helping children to have sound mind and achieve their life goals is my GOAL.” His hobbies are playing soccer and chess and he is an active player of a local soccer club in Dallas, TX.

Perform initial assessments, diagnose, and treatment of patients. Performs follow up care and continuing treatments. Refer patients Hung is one of our newest members and has been with the company for 2 months. Prior to that, he spent 8 years working in the emergency department as an RN. Before becoming a Registered Nurse, Hung worked as a Paramedic. Mr. Hung graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science in Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Texas at Arlington. Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas State University at San Marcos In his spare time Hung enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He in involved with his church and volunteers his time, giving back to the community. Hung and his family enjoy traveling while vacationing and learning about different cultures. Hung’s favorite inspirational quote is from Star Wars. “Do or do not, there is no try – Yoda” My goal, as a healthcare provider is to ease people’s suffering. I want to dispel the myths and stigma associated with mental illness through education.

Wadzanai Jadagu has been with the company for 3 years.  Prior to that, she worked as a floor nurse at some of the largest hospitals in the DFW area. Wadzanai graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. She is a proud member of the American Nurses Association and Texas Nurses Association. In her spare time, Wadzanai enjoys spending time with her family.

Janette Kuri, is our lovely Office manager. She handles all of the office operations as well as client concerns. Janette has been with the company for 6 years. Prior to that, she spent 8 years managing a well established local restaurant in the heart of Frisco as a Sous Chef. Janette graduated from University of North Texas with a B.S. in Bachelors of Science in Sociology. She is a proud member of the Dallas Organic Garden Club, She also serves on the board of Purchasing Managers Charities Inc. In her spare time, Janette enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and taking part in cultural events. Janette believes that challenges make life interesting, but overcoming those challenges makes life meaningful. It takes that one mentor, teacher, counselor, or doctor to make a lifetime difference in a child’s life. She is dedicated to serving humanity, implementing ethical principals, so we can give our clients the maximum value for their money.
